A lovely summer Sunday afternoon visit. The very well restored Medieval Tower and church within a curtain wall are beautiful and historically interesting, while the displays of modern art and lawn chairs in idyllic garden grounds provide an extra aspect and charm that is rare for such sites.
Wasted Journey, supposed to be open 13:00h to 19:00h. Arrived to find it closed and all the gates locked. Went to Pierrefonfs 16km away, this one is well worth the drive.
Absolutely worth the stop. Mixture of medieval architecture and modern art. We had the place to ourselves. Just great.
Very beautiful estate where the owner lets us visit his home during guided tours. Warm and cheerful welcome by an art student.
Unusual and permanent exhibition.
I recommend the guided tour which is very interesting.
Very beautiful with beautiful views of the valley
Bucolic setting
To visit absolutely
Small walk from the car park to the park of the keep which is free.
Visit of the dungeon for 10 euros I find a bit expensive,
You can visit the surroundings of the dungeon which is very pretty.
I advise you to go through the path that leads you to the dungeon by the underground in hot weather it is super cool and it is really very nice to be able to access these days by this type of passage.
The place is pleasant and the idea of mixing works of art is interesting, however when you enter the chapel, you have the impression that the rooms are empty. Some works are more visible outside the ramparts of the keep while the entrance is inside. Furthermore, when I got there, there was no one at the ticket office, I had to wait about 15 minutes for someone to pay for the entry, so in the meantime, anyone can enter the dungeon without paying, the barriers are grates that are at foot height.
I did not take the guided tour which apparently allows you to visit the interior of the dungeon unlike a self-guided tour, but I find it a shame that there is a lack of security in a place that is magnificent.
Atypical, original & authentic place, magnificently restored, with atypical monumental works with interesting stories attached to their design.
